Ross Jeffries

Who he is

Ross Jeffries — pen name of Paul Jeffrey Ross — is the American pickup artist who, from the late 1980s, built "Speed Seduction", a seduction system based on neuro-linguistic programming. In Neil Strauss's The Game he appears as a mentor to both Strauss and Mystery, and Strauss calls him the "godfather" of the modern pickup-artist community.

Why he matters here

Jeffries is the earliest link in the chain this site traces from 1980s pickup artistry to the modern manosphere. "Speed Seduction" predates Mystery's method and Strauss's The Game, and established the core, contested premise the site examines in do women prefer jerks over nice guys?: that attraction is a set of psychological levers a man can learn to pull — here dressed in the language of NLP. Much of today's "game" and red-pill vocabulary descends from this NLP-flavoured origin.
