The name is a question, not a verdict. Parts of this world function like a self-improvement movement; parts of it function like something much darker. Our job is to document what these communities say, what their critics say, and what the evidence says — and let you decide.

What we do

Explain the communities, the language, and the pipeline that carries people through them.

Cover the good faith and the harm. Some of what draws young men here is legitimate — discipline, fitness, purpose, brotherhood. We say so, and we document where each thread tips into harm.

We cover litigious public figures and communities with a history of harassing critics; pseudonymity is a safety decision, not a dodge.
