Methodology — how every page is made

Every page on this site moves through the same pipeline before publication.

1. Sources before sentences

Research starts by collecting sources — court records, peer-reviewed studies, government data, reputable news reporting, and archived primary material. Prose is written against the collected sources, never the other way round.

2. Citation discipline

Every factual claim about a named person carries an inline citation. A sentence that cannot be sourced does not ship. Quotes are verified against video or transcript before they appear as quotes — paraphrase is never presented as quotation.

3. Archive at publication

Manosphere content is deleted, edited and re-uploaded constantly. Every cited source is snapshotted to a public web archive when the page ships, and both the live link and the archived copy appear in the source list. Automated checks block publication of any page with an unarchived citation.

4. Legal accuracy

Ongoing legal matters are described in strictly accurate terms — charged, alleged, denies — and every page touching a live case carries a dated status box with a fixed review cadence. An automated check fails our build when a status box goes stale. UK coverage additionally respects complainant anonymity (a criminal-law requirement, not a style choice) and contempt rules for active proceedings.

5. Right of reply

Living profile subjects are offered the opportunity to comment, through a verifiable public contact route. The offer, its date, and any response are recorded on the profile, which states whether an approach has yet been made.

6. Both-directions fact-checking

We apply the same evidence bar to claims made by the manosphere and claims made about it. Neutrality is demonstrated by the verdicts, not asserted in the copy.

7. Safety rules

Crisis and mental-health pages follow established safe-messaging guidelines: help resources before statistics, no method detail, hope-based framing. Pages about attackers follow victim-centered norms — no glorification, no manifesto hosting, names de-emphasized. The glossary documents harmful terms for identification without normalizing them, and entries on body-modification practices never include technique or dosage detail.

8. Corrections

Material corrections are logged publicly on the corrections page. If we got something wrong, tell us — the process is described there.

9. How this site is produced (including AI)

We use AI tools to help research, draft and cross-link this site — the same way many newsrooms now use them. What AI does not do here is decide what is true. Every citation is fetched from its primary source, quote-checked against that source, and pinned to a dated web archive by the process above (sections 1–3), and the automated build refuses to publish a page whose quotes are unverified or whose citations are not archived. In other words, the claims of accuracy on this site do not rest on a model's say-so; they rest on sources you can open and check yourself, enforced by code. AI assists the writing; verification against the record is the human-and-gate step that everything must pass.
