Definition

"Top G" is the honorific that admirers of the influencer Andrew Tate use for Tate himself. In the communities that formed around him it works as a title rather than a nickname: the man at the top of every hierarchy at once — money, fighting, women, fame. Used loosely, it can be applied to anyone a speaker wants to crown as dominant and untouchable, but its primary referent remains Tate. ^[1]

The phrase spread far beyond committed followers. Among teenagers it is often pure meme vocabulary — a jokey synonym for "legend" — and many who use it have only a vague idea of the man behind it.

What it signals

The word itself is weak evidence of anything. What matters is whether it comes with sincere investment in Tate as a role model, because that investment attaches a follower to his worldview and to his legal narrative.
