Stacy
Incel slang for a stereotyped hyper-attractive woman — the female counterpart of Chad — imagined as vain, shallow and interested only in top-tier men.
Definition
Stacy is incel slang for the imagined apex woman: extremely attractive, and — in the stereotype — vain, shallow, rude and interested only in the highest-status men. She is the female counterpart of Chad, and together the pair anchor the incel picture of dating as a rigged genetic market. [1] Below Stacy in the taxonomy sits "Becky", the average woman, completing a ranking system into which real women and girls are slotted by appearance.
Origin
The character emerged around 2011 on 4chan's /r9k/ board, most likely borrowing her name from the then-popular Scumbag Stacy image meme. From there she spread through lonely-hearts subreddits such as r/ForeverAlone into the more openly misogynistic corners of the internet, reaching mainstream social media around 2015, often via Chad-and-Stacy comic formats. [1]
What it signals
Stacy is a stronger signal than most terms in this glossary because it never had a friendly mainstream career. Chad became an affectionate compliment; Stacy remained a term used almost entirely inside incel and adjacent spaces, where she serves a double function — desired and despised at once. Commentary on the term notes precisely this ambivalence: incels love Stacy but hate her because they cannot have her. [1] Sincere use therefore usually indicates real contact with incel content, not just meme literacy. The deeper habit worth interrupting is the taxonomy itself: once classmates are being filed as Stacys and Beckys, attraction has been reorganised into a caste system — language the Dictionary.com entry itself calls dehumanising and sexist.
