The number
Plan International UK reports that about 59 people worldwide have been killed in ideologically motivated killings by incel community members — a real body count spanning multiple countries and years, not a rhetorical device. [1]
What it does and doesn't establish
The figure shows that a violent fringe exists and that incel ideology has motivated lethal attacks, which is why some of that violence has been treated as terrorism in law. It does not show that incels as a whole are a terror threat: the research record consistently finds the typical self-identified incel is a depressed, isolated, help-averse young man, and the majority of forum incels are non-violent and disapprove of violence. For the fuller picture of who is in these communities and what the evidence actually supports, see Are incels a terror threat?
